June 3Tomorrow is the last day of school. Wahoo!

Of course, we will recognize the contribution of the boys’ teachers with gifts. Peter’s current teacher is a long-term substitute because his regular teacher had a baby in early April. We don’t know her that well, but she seems nice and she is definitely a very patient and loving woman. We contributed money toward a class gift, but I also wanted to give her a small gift from Peter, so I made this sticky note holder.

We have known Jacob’s teachers for years, as they were also Peter’s teachers when he was still at Montessori school. We bought each of them something nice (being vague here in case Ms. Olga is reading!), but I figured that since I was making the sticky note holder for Mrs. Counts, I would make one for each of Jacob’s teachers as well.

I scrap-lifted this idea from something I saw at a scrapbooking convention last year. These are so simple to make, but they’re cute and useful, too! All you need is a 7×5 acrylic frame, some pretty paper, an embellishment for the corner, rubber stamps or stickers or even nice handwriting for the lettering and a pad of sticky notes. Attach the embellishment to the paper and stamp/stick/write the name and slide the paper into the frame. Use glue dots to adhere the sticky notes to the outside of the frame. Voila! Gift!

You can’t see it well in the photo, but the frame is turned so that base of the frame (the flat part that would normally hold the frame up) is at the top, causing the frame to angle downward and making it easy to grab a sticky note when needed.
